Boundaries as Acts of Self-Compassion
Today, we’re exploring boundaries — one of the most powerful expressions of self-compassion in action.
Boundaries are not about control or separation. They’re about honouring your needs, values, and truth so you can meet the world from a place of clarity and love. In this short introduction, I’ll guide you through why boundaries are such a vital part of self-compassion, and how to approach this practice gently and effectively.
(This video is 2 mins & 52 secs)
STEP 2 - PRACTICE TIME
Identifying and Expressing a Boundary
Now it’s time to gently explore setting a boundary in your own life. Once you’ve watched Step 1, move through today’s second video where I’ll walk you through:
- How to recognise where a boundary is needed
- How to clarify what is and isn’t okay for you (including consequences without threat)
- How to express your boundary with clarity and care
This is a powerful yet tender step, so take your time and choose something small and manageable to begin with. (This video is approx. 15 minutes)
STEP 3 - WORKBOOK, JOURNAL, REFLECT & PRACTICE
Now that you’ve explored today’s videos and teaching, take some time to integrate what you’ve learned. Download the workbook below to:
- Identify one gentle boundary in your life
- Practise expressing it clearly and kindly
- Reflect on what parts may arise as you do
- Support yourself through self-compassion practices as you take this step
- Before journaling and exploring your daily Micro-Practice.
Boundaries can feel vulnerable, especially if this is new for you. This is where your self-compassion toolkit comes in — allowing you to meet yourself with love, even as you stretch into something new.
